Project Details

Initial situation

  • Space was limited – existing lines and mobile tippers had to remain operational during the rebuild.
  • The new control needed seamless integration into batch and recipe systems as well as existing S7-300 lines.

Solution

  • Redesigned container logistics including mobile tippers, bypass for the casing cylinder and priority logic.
  • Programmed a failsafe S7-317F for the new silos and extended the legacy S7-300 programmes.
  • Implemented interfaces to the DIET system, blend selector and adjacent lines via industrial S7 communication.

Impact

  • Production can run flexible blends without sacrificing buffer capacity or DIET throughput.
  • Service teams benefit from end-to-end diagnostics and remote access via WinCC flexible.
