A PloomS primary line in Poland received additional string remover and TOMRA foreign material detection – without interrupting production, including safety and recipe integration.

Initial situation

  • •New equipment had to be embedded into three neighbouring lines and aligned with existing safety concepts.
  • •Safety, recipe and process data needed to remain synchronised and auditable across line boundaries.

Solution

  • •Integrated the new modules into the existing S7-1511F control including transfer and rejection logic.
  • •Expanded safety zones with two internal and three external circuits via ProfiSafe and hardware emergency stops.
  • •Connected the TOMRA sorter, string remover and peripherals including diagnostics and recipe integration.

Impact

  • •The line delivers consistent product quality and process safety – foreign material is reliably removed.
  • •Operators identify disturbances faster thanks to extended visualisation and diagnostics.
