Project Details

Initial situation

  • The retrofit had to fit into a narrow production window without affecting cycle time.
  • Control system, cameras, FCC platform and delta robot required a shared data model.

Solution

  • Developed new function blocks for pouch and case tracking including FIFO buffers.
  • Connected cameras, labeller and quality stations to the S7 controller via serial interfaces.
  • Integrated rejection logic and door monitoring into the safety and process control.

Impact

  • Track & trace meets regulatory requirements without affecting cycle time.
  • Operators receive clear diagnostics and can document rejected product automatically.
